Program guide
Study Engineering in Egypt
What is engineering?
Egyptian engineering degrees usually begin with a common preparatory year covering mathematics, physics and engineering fundamentals, after which students specialise into a named department.
Which specialisations a university actually offers varies a lot. A university with a well-known engineering faculty may not run the specific branch you want, so check the department list rather than the faculty name.
Who it is for
- Students strong in mathematics and physics.
- Students who want a degree with direct industrial application.
- Students interested in construction, energy, manufacturing, telecommunications or infrastructure.
How long it takes
5 years
Commonly five years including a preparatory year at public universities; some private universities structure it differently. Programme length is set by the university and the relevant national regulations, and it has changed in recent years. Confirm the exact structure for your intake with the university before you apply.
